SDCC Brings Out the Blog

Every year people go crazy starting in June (or sometimes May).  We need X by San Diego, this has to be out, the show is a bust without Y!, etc.

This is a friendly reminder from CBC that there are other conventions and other times of the year to debut a book, concept, announcement and the like.  The signal-to-noise ratio is out of control at Comic-Con, and chances are your megaphone isn’t as loud as Marvel’s or Paramount’s.  If you’re going to shout, do it right and make sure it’s targeted so people can actually hear you.

Or hire a professional to help you get it done.

2010 – Let’s Do This

It’s a new year, people, and the financial crisis is still on.  Content providers are looking to break new ground, grab new eyeballs, and do it cheaper than ever before.  They’re still turning to comics, and the industry still idles along in the bubble of the direct market.

2010 should be a year of growth.  Hopefully for the medium, but also for the kinds of stories and the quality of the ones being produced.  People are willing to pay for quality.  They want the best.  Let’s make sure we do it right and put out quality product.  Forget the past year and any prior mistakes.  2010 is a chance to do it right.

And we’re here to help.
